The Wisdom of Irik, Ink. — Our Why
We are the parents of Irik, a 25-year-old nonvocal, neurodivergent adult with high support needs. Through our lived experience, we’ve come to understand that the dominant systems of support, education, and belonging are not designed for true inclusion — especially not the kind that celebrates complexity, dignity, and humanity.
Irik, Ink. was born from our love for Irik and from our refusal to let society continue to overlook, isolate, or devalue people like him. We are here to co-create a new way of thinking, talking, and acting — a culture of unifying inclusion that transforms everyone it touches.
If you join Irik, Ink., you won’t just be supporting a nonprofit. You’ll be part of a participatory movement. You will be transformed. You’ll laugh more. Feel more. Learn more. And you’ll see how much better the world can be when every person is seen, heard, and celebrated. This is how we light the way — together.
A Community Invitation
We invite you to walk with us — Jordan and Katharine — not just as professionals or parents, but as beacons of light in a world that often forgets its heart. Through Irik, Ink., we are building a cooperative learning organization powered by story, action, joy, and radical inclusion.
We’re creating timebanks where neurodivergent individuals exchange their gifts and skills. Hosting events that bridge worlds. Designing systems rooted in dignity. And we’re not doing this alone — we’re doing it with our community, for our community.
Whether you’re a neighbor, a family member, a policymaker, an artist, or an educator, there’s a place for you in this movement. Let’s shake things up — one teaching moment, one beautiful connection, and one shared goal at a time.
Our goal is to create a platform that offers insights into the world of autism and connection to our programs, skills workshops, and facilitated learning and participation.
